KARORI HALBERG - 27 November 2021
What a great day we had at Karori Golf Club on Saturday 27 November for our Murray Halberg Day. It was a pleasant day for a full field of 71 players to take to the serene and green of Karori. The day remained dry and players returned to the clubhouse having thoroughly enjoyed their golfing experience and the wonderful company they were keeping! This was followed by many lucky recipients picking up abundant prizes in the raffle that was drawn. The prizegiving was when we acknowledged those who took on Karori and came out on top showing fine form and outstanding scores:
Overall Men’s Winner -Alan Henwood 42 stableford points
Overall Women’s Winner - Marcosa Santos 40 stableford points
The winning team was Victor Diem (38 stfd), Tinh Le (39stfd), Tam Trang (32stfd), and Vinh Phan (38 Stfd) total of 147 points
Twos were scored by only two players, Mark Peck and Victor Diem on the 6th and 2nd holes. This was followed by the old favourite auction, where members and visitors were treated to Mr Keith Gaskin – our resident auctioneer, encouraging bidding for a range of wondrous treats - won’t mention them here as they may end up as future Christmas gifts. Needless to say, the freshly caught, free range whitebait that the KGC Captain had donated would be a welcome sight at any Christmas table!. Thank you once again to the Eagles for their organisation and slick running of this event.

Wainuiomata put on a fabulous day for its annual Halberg day tournament. Unfortunately, there was not large turnout of visiting eagles. Perhaps going to into red as part of the COVID management system had put people off.
